Drywall is done

All the walls and ceilings have drywall on and tomorrow they will start taping it all. All of a sudden the house feels so much closer to being finished, even though there is a long way to go... :) Some rooms feel a lot bigger now (living room) and others a lot smaller (powder room), but the whole house feels so much more like a house now.
My husband is working on the exterior right now, but tonight he was going to clean a little first, you might noticed the need of that in the pictures.
Living room towards the front of the house
Living room towards the back of the house

Laundry room with door to the back yard
Rec room with playhouse in the corner
Upstairs towards the kids' bedrooms
Foyer to the right, kitchen to the left
Foyer, seen as coming from the garage

  1. Wow! Awesome! You will have a beautiful house :) I know the feeling so well. The drywall is up and it feels like the house is "almost" done!!, but then it's all the tedious stuff.... *sigh* Looking great though, can't WAIT to see it in person... SOOOOOON! Btw, Is the "funky" door opening to a kids "hide out" or what? (with a little window next to it), super cute and cool idea! (if that's what it is!!). I bet the kids are so excited about their new home!

    1. Yes that is the playhouse upstairs in the recroom. Took away a little from my storage room, but I think it will be a well used area still... We are putting the play kitchen in there and a small table and two chairs, there is an outlet for a light in there as well. Our kids all like to play house, so what better gift could they get but their own little house? :) Hubby is planning to make a real little door and a flowerbox for under the window. That will be the midwinter projects I guess.

  2. I guess it's the doorway to the kitchen...because I totally like the idea of a window into the "heart of the house!" :)
Sure looks great, all of it though. And hopefully we'll get to see it live one day. :)
Good luck with the rest... :)
